VIVAnews – Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla officially inaugurated the grand launching of VIVA, “Victory for Indonesia, Victory for All,” a new Indonesian media group. He welcomed the audience with an inspiring speech, followed by a symbolic act of pressing a button to formally launch VIVA and vivanews.com
VIVA, a new media group, which includes ANTV, TVOne and VIVAnews.com, was officially launched by Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
He first thanked VIVAnews for giving a new access to the way that the community can access news, entertainment and information faster and more accurate.
With technological development, he said “News used to be what has happened. Now news is what has happened and what is happening,” said Vice President Kalla during the grand launching ceremony of VIVA and vivanews.com, Jakarta, Wednesday, Dec. 17.
He also said that the way information is delivered has changed our way of life and the way of education. But he also cautions: “Besides entertaining, it has to give optimism to the nation,” he said.
On a last note, Kalla said that the media needs to play a role in making the community feel that the nation is progressive. “Media is welcomed to say that we lack LPG. But please if there is enough of LPG please do convey such message too,” he said.
The speech was followed by the Vice President pressing a button as a symbolic act to formally launch VIVA.
