He further emphasized that this would be the perfect time to maintain growth and create new employment opportunities. He also viewed Indonesia as one of the emerging countries that have an important role as well as being a strategic partner for England.

During the visit, a team of British HM Treasury also met with Indonesian economic and financial experts. According to Timms, Indonesia, as well as its minister of finance and her policies, has an excellent reputation. According to him, England wish to intensify relations prior to the G-20 meeting in London, England, in April, aiming at maintaining stability and improving global growth.

With regard to the G-20 meeting, Timms said that prior to the heads of states meeting by early April 2009, a finance ministerial meeting will be held by mid March 2009.

The G-20 meeting in London, according to Timms, will be a follow-up from a similar meeting in Washington, USA, in November 2008.

"The next G-20 presidential meeting will be an excellent moment to build a partnership as a response to unprecedented financial crises and to resolve the economic crisis," he said.
