The raid taking place on Monday at 1:30 p.m. of Malaysian time confiscated 18 fake Indonesian passports, two Albanian passports, four Indonesian marriage certificates, seventeen Malaysian entrance and exit immigration stamps, a machine and a computer allegedly used for running the counterfeiting.

Early investigation disclosed that the syndicate charged its consumers of between 30 ringgit and 1,200 ringgit (US$ 8.04 - $321.92) for a fake passport.

An A-class fake document costs 1,200 ringgit, B-class 800 ringgit, C-class 250 ringgit, and 30 ringgit for a passport sticker. The more expensive the fake passport is, the more it resembles the original copy.

This syndicate allegedly counterfeited six to seven passports per day and has been operating for the last six months with monthly income of around 10,000 ringgit, Sulaiman added.

The stamps confiscated from the syndicate including those of Klang Harbor - Selangir, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Setulang Laut Harbor - Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang Harbor - Johor Bahru, and Pinang Island international Airport. This syndicate manipulated Indonesian passport so it can be re-used.

The three suspects could be charged based on the Immigration Law 1959/63 article 55D. If they are proved guilty, they will be sanctioned with minimum fine of 30,000 ringgit and up-to-ten years of imprisonment as well as whipping punishment.
